Buckshot AKA HEZADANDYSHARPSHOOTER
The one that started it all – Meet Buckshot, affectionately known as "Bucky Boy" – a spirited 2013 Reservations Pony/Grade gelding who's not just a lesson horse, but a living legend with plenty of stories to share. Buckshot is full of energy and personality, and while he’s certainly a lot of horse, he’s incredibly intuitive and responsive to riders who are aware of how their bodies cue him. His sensitivity to rider movements makes him an excellent teacher for developing a quiet, seat-oriented western riding position. Buckshot excels in helping riders of all levels—from beginner to advanced—learn to communicate effectively with their horses through proper body alignment and timing. His big personality and sharp awareness make every lesson with him an exciting and educational experience.

The Affectionate Haku
Meet Haku, a 2019 Heinz 57 Grade gelding whose name translates to "White" and "Pure" in Japanese. This boy came to me at 14.3 hands....would you believe that he grew almost double in size within a year?! This gentle giant has the sweetest and personable temperment! There is a running joke that when you're to use Haku for your lesson that you won't need to find him in the pasture....he finds you! Under saddle, Haku is not an empty shell of a horse; he's a kind and willing partner, with a touch of mischief, and a dash of honesty! Haku will be the first to copy your state of being and mirror it back to you with a personable flair! Haku is the perfect mount for beginners and intermediate riders alike!

Morrigan AKA Stillwell Snow Queen
Morrigan is a 2011 registered purebred Morgan mare and the newest member of the Borderless Herd! With a vibrant personality and a strong sense of opinion, Morrigan adds plenty of character to the herd. Despite her bold nature, she is also incredibly gentle. Her pedigree is rich in American history, with Morgans being one of the first breeds developed in the U.S. Morrigan’s lineage includes notable bloodlines from the University of Vermont, which continued the Old Government Morgans originally bred for the U.S. Cavalry. Known for their athleticism and intuitive nature, these horses also carry the "solid" appearance preferred by the cavalry, with minimal white markings seen as a mark of quality.

Silvanus "Sully" AKA BOMBAY
Meet our newest herd member, Sully! Registered as “Bombay,” Sully is a 19-year-old Missouri Fox Trotter with a wealth of experience under his big hooves. Standing an impressive 16 hands tall, he’s here to show students—whether short or tall—that riding a big horse is no small feat, but it can be a wonderfully comfortable experience.
Sully is skilled in the signature “Missouri Fox Trot” gait, in addition to the standard walk, trot, and lope of most horses.
As he adjusts to life with the Borderless herd, Sully will be assisting with lessons for students of all levels, from beginner to advanced, both on the ground and in the saddle.
Tourniquet - #4614
Tourniquet (formerly known as Recon) is a 2012 BLM Mustang, rounded up in 2015 from the Beatys Butte Herd in Oregon. Mustangs from this region are known to be particularly sensitive. In late 2023, Tourniquet was sent to a kill pen in Batrop, LA and by early 2024, he arrived at Shepherd Mountain Horse Rescue in a fearful, untouchable state, showing signs of past mistreatment. A sharp yet fragile gelding, Tourniquet exemplifies Dr. Jaak Panksepp's studies in Affective Neuroscience, demonstrating how horses—and other mammals—can carry emotional trauma and exhibit signs of PTSD. “Touro” (affectionately called) is currently used in intermediate to advanced groundwork lessons to help educate students on equine behavior and the complexities of trauma in horses.
